Description

“Come along!” calls Willi Basalt, your little hiking guide, waving as he speaks. “We’re going to explore the history of the Eifel on foot—it’s going to be exciting!”


“What Was Truly True” is the name of this loop trail that takes us around Gelenberg. Here, too, some unusual stories await you. Willi Basalt tells of mysterious burial mounds deep in the forest. Or about an imperial linden tree with a commemorative stone from 1813/1913, erected to mark the centennial anniversary of the victory over Napoleon in the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig.
