The “Peace, Forest, and Chapel” loop trail leads to special stops along the History Trail. “From the Heyer Farm with its time-honored chapel,” explains Willi, the clever basalt stone, “to the former Borler Agricultural Teaching and Research Institute, and on to St. Bernhard with its old chestnut tree and ash trees—to name just a few examples—he introduces us to the region’s history. And up close, too. Isn’t that great?”
